“For The Love of Art” 2022
The “For the Love of Art” show was a compilation of works that were completed throughout the years of 2018-2022. The exhibition was held at North Caroline State University and hosted by the African American Cultural Center of the university. The goal of this show was to emphasize the passion and love of the craft and process of creating art. There were 16 artworks present, some which had been shown in previous shows, and some pieces that had never had the opportunity of being presented in a gallery setting. Each with a specific story pertaining to the journey of being an artist and finding one’s style through creative exploration.
This show was somewhat different then past shows due to the varying styles and cohesiveness of the work shown. While on the surface, the visual theme might seem to be randomized, they all pose as a specific moment in time of discovery of the artist. It is important for creatives to explore and have fun with their process and produce work they are proud of with hopes to be able to present these works to the public.
“Stuck in Motion” 2022
The “Stuck in Motion” exhibition was shown at Eden Airlines Gallery in Richmond Virginia during the month of April 2022. It consisted of 13 original drawings and oil paintings all under the theme of tragedy and the overwhelming societal influence to always be busy and moving. This constant movement and bombardment of events and tragedy in one’s life can cause an individual to react in many different ways. How it effects an individual’s ability to function in a positive and productive manner is one that is highlighted in the exhibition.
This show was meant to celebrate life and celebrate the passion that needs to be incorporated into daily life in order to find peace and calmness through an ever-busy society. While life continues to deal an unexpected amount of events, surprises, and sometimes tragedy, it is the individual's responsibility to use the energy they generate from said tragedy, and transform it into something positive and beautiful.

“Through Our Eyes” Art Showcase at the Harrison Museum of African American Art
The “Through Our Eyes” art exhibition was held at the Harrison Museum of African American Culture in Roanoke Virginia, during the Month of November in 2020. Organized and curated by gallery staff and members of the “Black Father Family” organization in Roanoke, carefully curated a group of black artists from the valley. The theme of this show was to highlight black fatherhood and celebrate the positive impact thy have on their children’s lives.
Depicted here is small series of works done digitally and traditionally using oil paint. These were made to celebrate and call attention to three valuable lessons a father can teach their son. The “Gift of Understanding” (Yellow), the “Gift of Protection” (Red), and the “Gift of Wisdom” (Blue). Each of these paintings echo the importance of black fathers teaching their sons the main qualities of growing into adulthood in today’s society.
These pieces were later bought and acquired by the city of Roanoke and displayed in Roanoke’s Municipal Building downtown.
